As Apple products become more popular in the office environment, one issue that comes up regularly is how to integrate Mac machines with Exchange so that emails can be sent and received properly.
It seems like an odd oversight, but Mac machines apparently aren’t compatible with Exchange 2003. This includes both the https setup with Mac Mail and Outlook 2011. I’m not sure what Apple and Microsoft were thinking, but the oversight has made plenty of companies consider making the move to Exchange 2010. Though it might not tip the scale by itself, this is definitely a factor that makes the upgrade more appealing.
What’s odd about situation this is that iPhone and iPads, which also use the Active Sync technology, actually do work—and work well—with Exchange 2003.
