Setting one of these devices is pretty straight forward for an IT consultant. Just have to decide which Barracuda Backup model can support your amount of data on the server(s) then connect it to your network. Then it is a matter of running the agent on each server you want backed up. Later you can match the local backup with some cloud storage to get your complete touch-less system.
What are some nice features to Barracuda Network Backup solutions? For one it is fairly simple to use and has a nice dashboard web interface to check in on things. It is also has notifications that give you daily updates on your backup situation. On top of that it has granular backup of Exchange on an individual email level, also has ability to backup SQL databases.
Are there drawbacks to the system? I really cannot think of too many except the cloud cost seems a bit high. If they had a bundled offsite plan that came with the unit, that may be a great option, but for now both purchase of the unit & cloud adds up when you go beyond 400GB of space. Just for some metrics 200GB / month of offsite storage is $50 per month.
I hope in the future there is an appliance that will allow you to upgrade your own hard drive capacity as you grow. This will allow market competition to dictate the cost of the hard drive.
